Programme Manager (Simulation Training Systems)

Salary up to £67,000 + car allowance + benefits package
The Distributed Synthetic Land Air Training (DSALT) programme is a tremendously exciting new venture in aerospace military simulation training for my client. They are delivering ground breaking collective training to front line war-fighters, using state-of-the-art, networked training simulation technology.
My client needs a Programme Manager to manage and deliver the upgrade of an existing simulation training facility. The successful candidate will establish a new team of simulator technicians to operate the facility, whilst ensuring the team delivers levels of customer service commensurate with a professional, well run and cutting edge facility.
This role would suit a programme manager with a successful track record in complex, multi-stakeholder programme management within a defence, aerospace or commercial environment.
A military background or deep understanding of RAF Training and operations will pose a distinct advantage.
This role would involve significant travel between Waddington in Lincolnshire, Farnborough, High Wycombe, London and Bristol, some overseas travel to the US may also be required.
Essential:
Current UK driving licence.
Candidates must willing to undergo UK Mod security clearance checks.
Desirable Skills/Qualifications:
- An in depth understanding of process of risk management.
- The ideal candidate will be degree educated (electronics, software, systems or computer science preferred)
- Accredited project management skills (APM, Prince2, MSP etc)
- Able to communicate effectively at all levels within the company and with customers.
- Strong interpersonal skills, good leadership skills, good negotiating skills and will be highly motivated.
